TRUCALL

Brand design for a caller-ID app that protects users from spam calls by making caller information clear and trustworthy.

TruCall is a phone protection brand built to help individuals and small businesses defend against scam calls, spoofed numbers, and phone-based fraud.

The brand provides features like real-time call screening, verified caller ID and instant call blocking, designed for people who rely on their phones for work, banking or everyday life.

A visual system crafted to communicate trust, clarity, and protection in everyday communication.

Brand Story

In a world where spam calls are constant and intrusive, TruCall was born from a simple but powerful idea:

People deserve transparency and control over who reaches them.

Every day, we make decisions in seconds based on what we see on our screen. For a caller ID app, that screen is the first point of trust, and this guided my design process.

This wasn’t just about making a logo, it was about visually communicating safety, reliability, and clarity.

the problem / opportunity

Smartphones alert us instantly, but when it comes to calls:

  • Unknown numbers jump our attention

  • Spam calls interrupt our day

  • Users hesitate before answering

There was a gap between function and feeling:

How do you make caller ID feel trustworthy, calm, and useful — not noisy or alarming?

My objective was to create a visual language that reassures users instantly and makes information easy to digest.

brand strategy

I began with foundational questions:

  • What does TruCall stand for?

  • How should it feel?

  • What emotions should the brand evoke?

Core Brand Values

  • Trust

  • Clarity

  • Calm

  • Protection

  • Simplicity

Brand Personality

  • Approachable, yet confident

  • Modern, yet stable

  • Active, yet intuitive

Tone

Clean, honest, informative , never cluttered.

This informed every choice that followed.

color System

Primary colors were chosen to express:

  • Trust

  • Security

  • Clarity

A calm blue anchors the palette, supported by neutral tones for contrast and clarity in UI.

Each color has a purpose:

  • Blue: trust and digital familiarity

  • White: stability

  • darker blue: verification/acceptance

typography

Clean, geometric type ensures readability at various screen sizes — especially critical for caller info that must be understood instantly.

Hierarchy was established for:

  • Names

  • Numbers

  • Status indicators (Spam / Verified / Unknown)

UI / mobile screens

I designed UI elements and mockups to ensure the brand translated cleanly into the digital product.

Each screen:

  • shows clear priority of information

  • reduces cognitive load

  • uses brand colors to signal trust

design system

One of the strengths of this project was establishing rules that scale:

  • A color and typography system that works for both print and digital

  • Clear spacing and grid guidelines

  • Interaction standards for motion

  • Iconography consistent with brand mood

This system ensures that TruCall feels cohesive no matter where it appears.

reflection & impact

This project taught me how to create visual trust systems — design that doesn’t just look good, but reassures users in moments where information matters most.

Because:

  • Trust isn’t just a value, it’s a visual language

  • Clarity isn’t just readability, it’s priority and hierarchy

  • Protection isn’t just a symbol, it’s perception

This work reflects how design can help people feel safer in their everyday digital lives.

Summary :

TruCall is a visual identity project for a phone protection brand designed to help users screen calls, block scams, and verify unknown numbers. The final identity balances trust, simplicity, and modern design, creating a brand system that can scale across product UI and marketing.
